Subject: school fundraiser
Author: Cindy

Has anyone tried having an open house to benefit schools? We were thinking of advertising a special day when the school of their choice would receive 15-20 percent of the book price. Or should we say 15-20 percent of the markup? Should we have a different day for each of the 7 public schools or just one? If we were inundated, we couldn't handle all seven in one day. Would people come? Should we have it before Christmas or after? This seems easier than setting up at a school and having to stand around all day---and, they do all have scholastic bookfairs twice a year. Should we also hold a day for private schools? (I don't even know how many of those we have.) It just seems that we could send out a flyer to every student, and that sounds like pretty inexpensive advertising. I would be quite embarrassed if the total for the schools was nothing, though.
