Brooklyn Walking Tour -- For Children's Booksellers!

ABA is hosting a cadre of Brooklyn authors who will lead booksellers on walking
tours of literary Brooklyn. These include tours of Brooklyn neighborhoods
immortalized by some of today's best writers, as well as tours to the studios
of local children's book illustrators and the offices of small independent
Brooklyn publishers. There will be a special tour for children's booksellers.
Booksellers will need to sign up in advance through ABA; watch BTW
for details.

ABA's Day of Education - Children's Bookstore sessions

All ABC-member booksellers are invited to participate in any part of ABA's
Thursday Day of Education. Specifically for childrne's booksellers, "Getting
More Out of Your Children's Section: Managing Selection, Service, and Store
Environment for Category Growth" will be presented twice from 1:30
p.m. - 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. so booksellers can take advantage
of other ABA education in the afternoon. ABA's Day of Education is free, but

This opening-day breakfast will feature Mo Willems, author of Knuffle
Bunny Too! A Case of Mistaken Identity (Hyperion Books for Children);
Jacqueline Wilson, author of Candyfloss (Roaring Brook Press); and
Daniel Pinkwater, author of The Neddiad (Houghton Mifflin Children's
Book Group). Libba Bray, author of The Sweet Far Thing (Delacorte Press)
will be the Master of Ceremonies.General Admission: $15 (SPE1T). Breakfast

beginning midway in the auditorium and extending to the back.No breakfast

Get to know twenty children's book creators up-close-and-personal in the
first-ever "Speed Dating with Children's Authors" program. Authors
and illustrators will move from table to table of booksellers, stopping for
short three-minute rounds at each table for quick get-to-know-you chats. Participating

The Association of Booksellers for Children, the American Booksellers Association
and the Children's Book Council will again share a booth at on the trade show
floor, where information will be available about each organization, program
materials such as the "20 Minutes of Your Day... Read With a Child" posters,
the Book Sense Children's Picks List and the Book Sense Children's Bestseller
Lists, a sample of the new Book Sense Children's White Box, materials showcasing
"Children's Book Week" campaign, a Pannell Award display, and much more.
NEW THIS YEAR: In-booth author readings! The readings will take place on
Friday afternoon, June 1 between 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and each will last
