Features: Ordering, receiving, returns, inventory searching (including
keyword), POS, bar code scanning/labels, integrated accounts receivable, special
orders, book fair program, sale pricing by date, letter generator and mailing
list/labels, reports, frontlist on floppy, security levels, gift certificates,
PUBNET, electronic ordering with Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Spring Arbor, and
any other company using BISAC format (FTP ordering to be added soon). Linux
multi-user operating system with built-in Office Suite and Internet capabilities.
Physical inventory program can be used with portable scanners. Optional modules
include frequent buyers' club, rental, multi-store communication, and mail order/wholesale.
Target Environment: Single stores to medium chains. Especially good
for stores with crossover into music products due to our experience in music
retail systems, music databases, and music electronic ordering.
Stats: Available 16 years/542 users. 97% are music retailers.
Standard Configuration/Cost: Usually sold as a turnkey system. A complete
two-user BookTrak system starts at $7,995 depending on software options. Each
system includes a Pentium III Computer, 40 gigabyte hard drive, tape backup,
receipt and system printer, bar code scanner, and cash drawer. If stores provides
their own equipment, software only (including computer set-up and 3 months support)
starts at $2,995. Computer must be sent to Trak Systems for system configuration.
Training: On-site training $95 per hour, travel expenses extra.
Support: From $59 per month depending on system size. Includes program
updates and unlimited telephone and online support (9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. EST,
weekdays). Emergency after hours beeper service (fee per incident).
