IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- Easy & important to nominate new paperbacks of year-old hardcovers that
you loved.
- Keep the variety of subject categories in mind, from gay/lesbian to travel,
from crime fiction to cookbooks, new age to poetry, and children's.
- Send in what's already written out on staff pick cards!
- Same with store newsletter reviews -- as long as you include the full-name
of the bookseller recommender!!
- Send in those reading copy response postcard back to the publishers! (They
send me copies.)
- Finished a reading copy for a book not due out for a few months? Send your
blurb in now; don't delay.
- Don't assume everyone else is sending in nominations of a great new book!
- Don't feel you have to write like Kingsolver or Pynchon in your nominations;
be conversational -- write what you'd tell a customer standing in your store.
