ABA Forums Upcoming in April
Several ABA Booksellers Forums scheduled for this month will provide members
with an opportunity to meet with representatives of the ABA staff and Board
to discuss issues relating to ABA programs, bookselling, and the state of the
industry. The forums will be supplemented by general sessions for specialty
stores to come together to discuss their particular needs.
On Tuesday, April 17, in conjunction with the Northern California Booksellers
Association (NCIBA), there will be an ABA forum from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at
the offices of MIG Urban Planners, 800 Hearst Ave. (corner of Hearst and 5th)
in Berkeley. There will be a pre-forum reception with refreshments from 3:30
p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
On Thursday, April 19, in conjunction with the Southern California Booksellers
Association (SCBA), there will be an ABA forum from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Vroman's,
695 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, California. The session for specialty stores
will be held from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., and SCBA will conduct its spring general
meeting from 8:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
On Sunday, April 22, in conjunction with the spring meeting of the Southeast
Booksellers Association (SEBA), there will be an ABA forum in Vero Beach, Florida,
at the Palm Court Resort at 3244 Ocean Dr. The session for specialty stores
will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.; the forum from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 24, in conjunction with the New England Booksellers Association
(NEBA), an ABA forum will be held at the Westford Regency Hotel, 219 Littleton
Rd., Westford, Massachusetts. The session for specialty stores will be held
from 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.; the forum from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, April 28, in conjunction with the Upper Midwest Booksellers Association
(UMBA), an ABA forum will be held at the Radisson Hotel South in Bloomington,
Minnesota. The session for specialty stores will be held from 4:00 p.m.-5:00
p.m.; the forum from 5:15 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
